Yesterday a friend, my daughter and I drove to Sand Springs OK, for Money Saving Queens  coupon class. We had alot of fun. Was neat to see her in person, bought her book and got it signed. My friend is reading it as we speak guess I get to read it when shes done.
We drove almost 2 hours to get there but was worth it and alot of fun. Something different to do. My friend was writing down everything, all the stores etc. I told my friend we don't have that store anywhere near where we live she was like what if they come to our area, so let her write.. lol..
Coupons and saving money are so much fun. Have been telling my friend how to do it for the last couple months and now she is hooked.

I still need to get posted on here what all we have done over the last few months. Nothing to exciting but still should do it.

Yeah can't believe I just got ripped off $149.90 by buying this Prado Electronic Cig online, there is a website where you can order the free trial, says was $149.90 but now its free except paying S&H, so I give them my credit card number for the shipping and guess what now they have taken the $150 out of my acct. I couldn't believe it. And nothing I can do because in fine print at the bottom of the page theres a small terms and conditons thing that says they will charge you acct after 14 DAYS if you don't return the kit. And of course when they sent it I never saw where it needed to be returned in 14 days or you would be charged.
And after you pay the $150 for the kit they will be sending you refill cartridges monthly for an additional $60 or $70, which by the way they say I cancelled that.. How I have no idea but I did, and without knowing I even did it. So from now gonna be careful when ordering online.

state fair day

Here is the Millerlite racecar we saw this morning when we stopped for breakfast at McDonalds. We got to take pictures of it. Was pretty neat.

And this is a picture from the state fair. yeah we actually made it there this morning. Was alot of fun. Amazing how expensive it is though. But at least we managed to get home with a few things this year for the money spent. Got a really cute thin wallet, those are really neat. A couple tank tops yeah I know its almost winter, a free t-shirt for taking a survey. Free always good.
And I think I may have just figured out how to post pictures, we shall see....

free day at the museum

well today my daughter and I went to the Oklahoma Musuem of Science, in OKC. We had a nice time and something different to do, has been a long time since we have been there. And all thanks to the Smithsonian Magazine, think thats who made it all possible for folks to visit museums today for free all across the U.S.
Thank you to all the freebie blogs and sites who posted the offer for us to get the free coupon to go. All I had to do was register and they sent me a email with my ticket to get in for two. We stopped in the gift shop on our way out of the science center and we each got a keychain, and I got a pen which will proably run out of ink before long but oh well, and my daughter Jennifer got a rock sucker, and a penny which now is engraved with the science museum logo stuff on it.  Don't tell.. lol.
Thank goodness the state fair was still going on today the museum wasn't all that busy. We got to see the planterium which is always fun, seeing the planets and the night sky where all the stars are up there. Pretty neat. Looked like they were redoing or adding to some of the exhibits so who knows might go again soon.
Really need to learn to remember to take a camera with when we get to do stuff. Just not used to it, then could maybe figure out how to put them on here.
So did anyone else get the tickets to see a museum today? If so where did you go and what did you see.

We ate at subway before going which would have been great but the subway we stopped at along the way wasn't all that great, oh well.

When we got home I made 2 apple pies with the apples we got from some friends a few days ago. Picked them from their tree, that was fun too.
I have never actually been able to make a apple pie and get it to taste right, so hoping with practice I might get it, shall see. Gonna have plenty of apples for practice. Trying to get them all peeled, cored, cut and in the freezer...

guess I better go for now, thinking we might go to the great state fair of Oklahoma tomorrow, not sure about it, since costs so much, but sometimes just gotta have some fun. Maybe we can get out of there with not spending alot and going through buildings the usual thing to do.

New Electronic Cigerettes

Well yesterday while in Stillwater visiting my sister for her sons birthday, there were 2 or 3 people there with these electronic cigs, so decided to ask about them. We had found them at a closer cig shop and for one it was around $60. so passed on it. But in Stillwater we were told they were around $25 for the start up pack and a refill pkg of filters. So went to check them out. And bought some. Will let you know if they help out or not and let everyone know how it works out.
These cigs aren't real so can be smoked anywhere around anyone. You get the fill of a cig but no second hand smoke, and everyone we talked to said they had cut back to 10 real cigs or less a day.
These electronic cigs have been onsale on tv over the last month or so.

We had a good time in Stillwater at their house, we were there for my nephew's 3rd BD. Were lots of little ones around.
My sister is planning on getting married next April and wants me to make her wedding cake so thinking I might. Of course after the anniversary cake might need to have my head examined. lol.

coupon savings having to give up the mini van

Why is it things just never seem to go right?  Have been using coupons and back to school sales the last few weeks gotten some really good deals. Never have to much paper or pencils and pens... Was gonna take a picture of all the goodies and put on here but not real sure how thats done yet. oh well.

Then yesterday had to give up the mini van because the work truck went out well at least the transmission did. And just tired of putting transmission into vehicles, the only person getting anything out of it is the salvage yard man when we have to get a different one every few months. So gave up the mini van for its new purpose a work van and am driving old faithful the car I got 6 years ago used from my aunt. my dad was sick with cancer and my aunt wanted me to be able to get back and forth to see him whenever I wanted or he wanted. This car was such a blessing then and now. Was only suppose to drive it for a little while but with no payments who cares its 20 years old and needs a paint job. And usually looks like a rolling trash can. She always starts only leaks a little oil and does really well on gas considering her age.
But after driving the mini van which was used but new to us for the last couple months its weird getting into the car sits lower, less space etc. 
A little upset having to give it up since now it will be a work van and not worth much after it gets driven all over the place.

Never did make it to the cemetaries where my parents and everyone are buried while I had a vehicle I could trust to get me there and back. oh well and when you have to make a vehicle last you just don't make extra trips.
Wonder if life will always be this hard and why does it have to be?

so glad to have air again.

Yesterday was a awful day. Woke up and it was burning up in the house, even one of the dogs got sick was so hot. Thought it was fixed and had to call and have the heat and air man come back out. Now its fixed finally cool and with temps outside being well over 100 can't go long without some kind of cool in the house.
Bought a router yesterday for the computer and jeeze it won't work with the computer. Big surprise. So today get to return it to the store and find something else.
Went to target yesterday and the big toy sale from last week must have been a success since the one by me had almost no toys. Thinking everyone found some good deals and a head start on christmas.

Did get in the pool yesterday afternoon while waiting the air conditioning to be fixed, thank goodness for the pool.
well guess I am done for now.

yardsale leftovers

I had posted on craigslist for garage/yardsale leftovers have gotten a couple people offering their leftovers. one I was actually able to answer yesterday, going to pick up the stuff tomorrow morning. Alot of stuff teachers desks, student desks, see how much of that stuff we can load up, who knows might not be much. This one is in purcell but craigslist is all over. Then posted a little while ago on freecycle to the edmond and logan county ones, and someone offered me whatever stuff they have left over. we will pick up tomorrow if they allow us to. I figure we can go threw the stuff keep what we want, sell what we don't either on craigslist, newspaper, fleamarket on the outside, and tammy is having another yardsale this fall might be able to take some stuff there. And we can give to goodwill and earc in edmond or guthrie. Need to find some boxes... To pack stuff up in.
Hoping it will work out, could be a nice little thrift store type business. Not doing it yet just thinking...

anniversary fruitcake

Well the anniversaryparty was tonight. And I managed to get the 3 layer heartshaped fruitcake finished after 6 months. Really glad it is over. But everyone who ate it said it was good so guess it was worth it.
My daughter helped me decorate it. Used fake flowers on it just because it was easier. There were blue roses and pink and yellow little flowers not sure what they were. And leaves. The icing was white buttercream and the ride there and this house was hot and got there and the building where the party was even hotter.
Also made white and choc. cupcakes guess they turned out ok, didn't eat any of those either, swirled the pink blue and yellow color in the icing and then put on top. They were pretty. Also used the cupcake stand we bought.

Had a nice time... And Della and Peter had a nice 40th wedding anniversay so made all the work worth it.

Tired gonna go to bed...

fruitcake update

well a little while ago got the marzipan out, rolled it out to size of the heartshaped cakes and put it on 2 of them. it was pretty easy and not to many redos, which was nice. They look pretty good so far, still have the biggest heart to cover then it will soon be time to frost and decorate. hopefully it won't be to difficult either. And lets all pray they taste good, at least as good as fruitcake can taste.

Yesterday was a mess of a day. Finally got tires on the mommyvan, feel a little bit safer without bald tires and them all the same size and matching. So now can make a trip home to the cemetaries and stuff like that one of these days soon. cemetary is where most of my family is these days and at least now and then should show up and drop off flowers.

errands day

well today, my daughter and I went to the mall so I could take a necklace I own to the jewerly store for its check up. yeah it gets check ups every 6 months to keep the warranty going. They cleaned it checked the chain and made sure none of the tiny diamonds had fallen out. It was ok, so go back in Jan.2011
Then we ate lunch, and went to the midwest bakery supply to get the marizpan stuff for the cake I am decorating this week for a party on Sat. That stuff wasn't cheap.
again tried to get 2 new front tires for the mommyvan, this time they didn't have 2 tires so tomorrow we take it back and try again.
this was all the excitement we had for today

vet's visit

Well finally took the newest doggie to the vet yesterday. He came from the pound up in Blackwell. When he got here his right leg was bowed out weird so thought better take him to visit the vet. So yesterday was the day. He did well, the vet took X-rays and said it was a break from the past no telling when it had happened but was already healed and its healed wrong. So we all live with it but at least we know. Said we could give him some of the same medicine people take for bad joints proably won't help but can't hurt. So will try it.
And the vet said if later on down the road it hurts him we can give him pain medication or amputate his leg. Not a option I like so will wait for that.

weekend lunch at victorian tea room

Lunch at the Victorian Tea Room in Guthrie was alot of fun. Something we have never done before.
We went in got to pick the table we wanted to sit at. Each table was set different with different tableclothes , tea pots and cups. My daughter Jennifer picked a table with Roses on the cups and tea pot, had a pretty lace cloth under glass.
We tried the sandwich samplier plate, which had a small ham, chicken salad and tuna salad on a tiny crossaint. They were so cute and tasted good as well. And there was few pieces of fruit and veggies on the plate and a bowl of soup with some kinda bread. Was all very delicious. We were offered complimentary Earl Grey tea. Was very good I could even drink without sugar.
Price wasn't bad and it is under new ownership and the lady accepted the coupon we had from the entertainment book from last year. I thought that was very nice of her.
So for the total of $15 that was with the coupon we had a very nice lunch, and will do it again just to spend time being girls.
This is a nice idea for when we want to be all girls for the day. lol. Is good for wedding showers, baby showers and even just because. So round up some of your girlfriends and spend lunch at a tea room. We had a great time.

Spending the day with my daughter. Going to the thrift stores and antique stores in Guthrie. Then eating at a little place called The Victorian Tea room. Sounds so cute, we have never eaten there so hoping that it will be good. We have a coupon from the Entertainment book from 09/10. Finally getting around to using the coupon before it expires. Can't wait for the new entertainment book to come out to see what coupons are in it for this next year. I think it has been a good buy, we have used alot of the coupons.
Anyway hope to have a great day with my daughter. Might even stop in a tire shop there and see about getting some tires that aren't bald for the front of the mommyvan as we are now calling her.

Last night we watched the family night movie on NBC, don't know about anyone else but my daughter and I weren't all that impressed with 2 hours of walmart commercials. All it seemed to be, specially since today the movie goes onsale at walmart, think they said for $13, so if you missed it and didn't tape it you can buy it today.
I did tape it and have to watch it again, lucky me, might be better the second time around.

Went out a little while ago, checked the pool skimmed it, still warm in the water this morning. Good time for a swim, maybe later. Watered the veggies and flowers, also put some sevin dust on them maybe the bugs won't eat all the veggies.

coupon savings

Used a coupon last night and got box of nexcare bandages with coupon for 50 cents at walmart. It was a $1.00 coupon didn't double since walmart doesn't do that, but I think 50 cents for bandages is pretty good buy. Have another might check homeland later and see if it is any cheaper with a double coupon. let you know.

Gonna go out and clean the pool out, leaves are falling really bad already. Went from raining around here to now its really hot and humid. Should jump in the pool before leaving the house this afternoon. We shall see.

Fruitcake

Goodmorning everyone, or me... lol..
Making the 3rd layer of a fruitcake I am making for a friends 40th anniversary party on July 24th. Yeah I know should have done it months ago but didn't know. Have the first 2 layers done, so its gonna be a 3 layer heart shaped anniversary cake. Thats the kind of wedding cake they had. They got married in England and its the traditional wedding cake for there. Will ice it with think buttercream icing and then its covered with marzipan then will decorate. Her colors back then were blue, pink and yellow, so gonna have flowers in those colors. Her mother in law gave them some cherubs that were on the cake but over the years they got messed up or whatever, so we have 2 cherubs to symbolize the ones she had.
Will take a picture of the cake and post if I am able to figure out how that is done.
This is the first time I have ever made fruitcake so wish me luck and hope it tastes good. Which they usually don't.

This is the first time I have written anything like this but figure gotta start somewhere.
Not doing much today, just cleaning and stuff like that. The profile picture I have of the bunny is a cake that I baked and decorated. Was the first time I had made a 3-D bunny cake. Guess it turned out ok for the first one.
Baking and decorating heart shaped fruitcakes for some friends anniversary party in 10 days. Have 2 already baked and have been soaking in apricot brandy for the last 6 months. Not sure how they will turn out. Yeah I know who likes fruitcake, right? This cake is gonna be 3 tierred.
well guess I should go for now. who knows if I don't get scared might write again pretty soon.. lol.
