state fair day

Here is the Millerlite racecar we saw this morning when we stopped for breakfast at McDonalds. We got to take pictures of it. Was pretty neat.

And this is a picture from the state fair. yeah we actually made it there this morning. Was alot of fun. Amazing how expensive it is though. But at least we managed to get home with a few things this year for the money spent. Got a really cute thin wallet, those are really neat. A couple tank tops yeah I know its almost winter, a free t-shirt for taking a survey. Free always good.
And I think I may have just figured out how to post pictures, we shall see....

free day at the museum

well today my daughter and I went to the Oklahoma Musuem of Science, in OKC. We had a nice time and something different to do, has been a long time since we have been there. And all thanks to the Smithsonian Magazine, think thats who made it all possible for folks to visit museums today for free all across the U.S.
Thank you to all the freebie blogs and sites who posted the offer for us to get the free coupon to go. All I had to do was register and they sent me a email with my ticket to get in for two. We stopped in the gift shop on our way out of the science center and we each got a keychain, and I got a pen which will proably run out of ink before long but oh well, and my daughter Jennifer got a rock sucker, and a penny which now is engraved with the science museum logo stuff on it.  Don't tell.. lol.
Thank goodness the state fair was still going on today the museum wasn't all that busy. We got to see the planterium which is always fun, seeing the planets and the night sky where all the stars are up there. Pretty neat. Looked like they were redoing or adding to some of the exhibits so who knows might go again soon.
Really need to learn to remember to take a camera with when we get to do stuff. Just not used to it, then could maybe figure out how to put them on here.
So did anyone else get the tickets to see a museum today? If so where did you go and what did you see.

We ate at subway before going which would have been great but the subway we stopped at along the way wasn't all that great, oh well.

When we got home I made 2 apple pies with the apples we got from some friends a few days ago. Picked them from their tree, that was fun too.
I have never actually been able to make a apple pie and get it to taste right, so hoping with practice I might get it, shall see. Gonna have plenty of apples for practice. Trying to get them all peeled, cored, cut and in the freezer...

guess I better go for now, thinking we might go to the great state fair of Oklahoma tomorrow, not sure about it, since costs so much, but sometimes just gotta have some fun. Maybe we can get out of there with not spending alot and going through buildings the usual thing to do.

New Electronic Cigerettes

Well yesterday while in Stillwater visiting my sister for her sons birthday, there were 2 or 3 people there with these electronic cigs, so decided to ask about them. We had found them at a closer cig shop and for one it was around $60. so passed on it. But in Stillwater we were told they were around $25 for the start up pack and a refill pkg of filters. So went to check them out. And bought some. Will let you know if they help out or not and let everyone know how it works out.
These cigs aren't real so can be smoked anywhere around anyone. You get the fill of a cig but no second hand smoke, and everyone we talked to said they had cut back to 10 real cigs or less a day.
These electronic cigs have been onsale on tv over the last month or so.

We had a good time in Stillwater at their house, we were there for my nephew's 3rd BD. Were lots of little ones around.
My sister is planning on getting married next April and wants me to make her wedding cake so thinking I might. Of course after the anniversary cake might need to have my head examined. lol.

coupon savings having to give up the mini van

Why is it things just never seem to go right?  Have been using coupons and back to school sales the last few weeks gotten some really good deals. Never have to much paper or pencils and pens... Was gonna take a picture of all the goodies and put on here but not real sure how thats done yet. oh well.

Then yesterday had to give up the mini van because the work truck went out well at least the transmission did. And just tired of putting transmission into vehicles, the only person getting anything out of it is the salvage yard man when we have to get a different one every few months. So gave up the mini van for its new purpose a work van and am driving old faithful the car I got 6 years ago used from my aunt. my dad was sick with cancer and my aunt wanted me to be able to get back and forth to see him whenever I wanted or he wanted. This car was such a blessing then and now. Was only suppose to drive it for a little while but with no payments who cares its 20 years old and needs a paint job. And usually looks like a rolling trash can. She always starts only leaks a little oil and does really well on gas considering her age.
But after driving the mini van which was used but new to us for the last couple months its weird getting into the car sits lower, less space etc. 
A little upset having to give it up since now it will be a work van and not worth much after it gets driven all over the place.

Never did make it to the cemetaries where my parents and everyone are buried while I had a vehicle I could trust to get me there and back. oh well and when you have to make a vehicle last you just don't make extra trips.
Wonder if life will always be this hard and why does it have to be?

so glad to have air again.

Yesterday was a awful day. Woke up and it was burning up in the house, even one of the dogs got sick was so hot. Thought it was fixed and had to call and have the heat and air man come back out. Now its fixed finally cool and with temps outside being well over 100 can't go long without some kind of cool in the house.
Bought a router yesterday for the computer and jeeze it won't work with the computer. Big surprise. So today get to return it to the store and find something else.
Went to target yesterday and the big toy sale from last week must have been a success since the one by me had almost no toys. Thinking everyone found some good deals and a head start on christmas.

Did get in the pool yesterday afternoon while waiting the air conditioning to be fixed, thank goodness for the pool.
well guess I am done for now.

yardsale leftovers

I had posted on craigslist for garage/yardsale leftovers have gotten a couple people offering their leftovers. one I was actually able to answer yesterday, going to pick up the stuff tomorrow morning. Alot of stuff teachers desks, student desks, see how much of that stuff we can load up, who knows might not be much. This one is in purcell but craigslist is all over. Then posted a little while ago on freecycle to the edmond and logan county ones, and someone offered me whatever stuff they have left over. we will pick up tomorrow if they allow us to. I figure we can go threw the stuff keep what we want, sell what we don't either on craigslist, newspaper, fleamarket on the outside, and tammy is having another yardsale this fall might be able to take some stuff there. And we can give to goodwill and earc in edmond or guthrie. Need to find some boxes... To pack stuff up in.
Hoping it will work out, could be a nice little thrift store type business. Not doing it yet just thinking...
